Sushi Etiquette
Sushi Wakon is committed to providing a quintessential Edomae sushi experience. The following guidelines are to ensure you enjoy your dining experience. Our entire team is at your service, so please ask questions at any time.
Please be aware and respectful of fellow guests when dining at the sushi counter, and in our private dining rooms.
Sushi is at its finest directly after being served, ideally within 30 seconds. We recommend you enjoy the sushi as soon as it is presented.
Please feel free to use either your hands or chopsticks to consume your sushi. When using your hands please note there is a small finger wipe that we recommend using between servings.
We recommend applying the Wasabi directly to the fish rather than adding to the soy sauce. Your chef will guide you with regards to which sauces you should use and when.
Ginger, Gari, is offered as a palette cleanser, and a small amount between servings will enhance your sushi experience.
At the end of the set course meal, you can request additional pieces from the chef. Please note additional charges will apply.
If there are any ingredients you cannot, or do not want to eat, due to allergies or personal tastes, please inform the chef.
We offer a range of non-alcoholic drinks, along with an impressive selection of Sake. We do not have sweetened beverages as they can overpower the subtle flavours of the sushi.
